Sundial Group leads the way, according to the BDRC's 'Venue Verdict' About 800 Event Hosts gave their views in the most recent quarter of BDRC's continuous research programme, where competing conference centres and hotel chains are assessed by their customers. The results from the first quarter place specialist conference venue provider Sundial Group (based at Highgate House in Northamptonshire) which owns and operates four UK venues, out in front of the competition with an average of 8.4 out of 10 for overall satisfaction, with 95% of the Sundial guests saying they would recommend the venue if asked. Tim Chudley (pictured), Sundial Group's Managing Director, was delighted by the result, but still emphasised the need to keep innovating and improving. "This result is excellent for Sundial Group, and I am thrilled we are being recognised as the best venues around -; a crucial step towards achieving our goal of being the best organisation in the meetings industry" In fact, 75% of the Sundial Group guests rated their experience at 8,9 or 10 out of 10, which was 14% higher than the nearest contender, a leading hotel chain.
"Dedicated conference venues are better locations for corporate meetings and training because they provide a dedicated, distraction-free environment and they are specialists" continued Chudley, who is immediate past-president of the International Association of Conference Centres, which assesses venues against stringent criteria before accepting them into membership. "Our challenge is to maintain this position at the top, but this first quarter certainly supports our belief in the conference centre concept, and hopefully it will reinforce our message across the industry"
