James's association with Sundial Group dates back to 1999 and his part-time job in Highgate House's Reception while he completed sixth-form at school. Three years away at the University of Bristol followed (although he kept in touch by producing our staff newsletter from his student accommodation) before he accepted a full-time job with Sundial on one of his many 21st birthdays. During his part-time years the only operational tasks he never performed at Highgate House were making a bed or cooking a meal.
Because his degree was in Finance/Accounting and he works in Marketing, James can now be found pondering creative ways of spending his budget before severely reprimanding himself for such irresponsible and imprudent thinking! The creative James seems to be winning the battle with the sensible James: he recently completed the Chartered Institute of Marketing's highest professional qualification, and has just embarked upon an MA in marketing. He's taken an interest recently in the methodology behind determing ROI on events, and, as with just about everything, would be quite content to discuss and debate it for hours and hours and hours.
Outside of work James is something of a sports fan, following Northampton Town FC with a passion that borders on obsession, but also taking an interest in most team sports. If he's not playing sport, he's watching it. If he's not watching sport, he's talking about it. If he's not talking about sport, he asks that you kindly call an ambulance - and please don't forget to tell the paramedics that he's allergic to penicillin.
