News: Sundial Offsets a Year’s Worth of Business Travel Carbon Emissions

Having held sustainability close to the highest priorities at Sundial for several years now, we are pleased to announce our most recent offset of carbon emissions.

For the tax year 2008/2009 Sundial's business mileage came to an estimated 138,000 miles - 46 tonnes of carbon emissions!

Sundial were more than happy to offset these miles since we feel that caring for the environment should be important to everyone. We made a donation of £742.90 to offset the 42 tonnes of emitted carbon to PURE, The Clean Planet Trust, a registered charity who pride themselves on taking ‘Big steps to a smaller carbon footprint'.

Tim Chudley, Managing Director at Sundial said, "We make every effort to be as ethical as possible at Sundial, not just because it is appealing to our customers but also because we care about the environment.

Sustainability is paramount at Sundial. It is one of the targets we use to measure our quarterly performance across the business. If we aren't caring for the environment we don't believe that we are performing well, which is why we are pleased to be able to say that we demonstrate responsibility for the planet through annually offsetting our business travel carbon emissions."

After all, being the current leading venue in the UK for ‘Overall Satisfaction' as voted by customers, we feel that we must lead by example in caring for the environment.
