News: Highgate House First in the County to Achieve ‘Welcome’ Status
17 Aug 2009
Highgate House is the first venue in Northamptonshire to have been awarded membership of both the ‘Walkers Welcome' and ‘Cyclists Welcome' group. The new UK wide criteria have been devised by Visit Britain's Quality in Tourism Assessment Scheme, in which Highgate House holds a 4 star rating. These ‘Welcome' schemes are a further bonus to our venue's status; they are specific to walking and cycling respectively and were developed with expert advice and support from the Countryside Agency and the Youth Hostel Association. The schemes have been developed to give confidence to walkers and cyclists that they are booking quality accommodation that meets their particular needs. Accommodation venues must meet the activity specific requirements introduced by the scheme, in order to gain ‘Welcome' status.
Paul Williams, Cluster Manager at Highgate House said "We are very pleased to have been awarded memberships of both the Walkers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome schemes; it demonstrates our flexibility to provide great service for any customer. We are always more than happy to help wherever possible in making a guest's stay as pleasant as we can, no matter what their requirements may be."
This is a particularly honourable achievement as Highgate House is the first venue in Northamptonshire to have been awarded either the ‘Walkers Welcome' or the ‘Cyclists Welcome' stamp, let alone both!
