News: Enjoy Britain at its Best with a Leisure Break from Sundial Venues
15 Jan 2011
More than 17 million Brits will shun a summer holiday this year - that's 2.7 million more than the number of people who stayed at home in 2008, according to new research. Sundial Venues, TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence holders, suggest an alternative to a missed break in the form of a restful retreat at any one of its three award-winning venues in Surrey, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire.
Offering a ray of hope to those resigned to a week spent at home, the hospitality specialists have created a series of bespoke UK country break packages, perfect for couples, families and groups of friends with time on their hands and no desire to jet off to foreign lands.
Tim Chudley, Sundial Group Managing Director said, "The economy and recession are quickly becoming go to explanations for any change in behaviour or lack of inclination to spend but, a number of high street travel agents have reported fewer bookings for overseas breaks this year. It seems that the nation has resigned itself to a holiday spent in the UK but with so much culture, beautiful scenery, great food and places to explore, we say seize the chance to see Britain at it's beautiful best.
"Our leisure breaks provide the perfect mix of luxurious accommodation, country house surroundings and easy access to a whole host of beauty spots, pretty market towns and the chance to get closer to nature while enjoying some good old fashioned rest and relaxation."
As part of its movement to get staycationers to see the country in a whole new light, each of the three Sundial venues is offering leisure guests free bicycle rental.
In order to qualify for the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence accolade, each Sundial UK country house venue was required to maintain an average of four out of a possible five star rating by visitors reviewing their stay via the TripAdvisor portal. Known for its delicious cuisine, made from fresh local produce in each location, and expertise in providing a superb guest experience thanks to its award winning meeting venues service, Sundial Venues also provides unrestricted access to a wide range of leisure facilities in each property.
With a choice of restaurants, cosy bars and individually decorated bedrooms well equipped with The White Company of London toiletries, free, unlimited WiFi access, iPod/mp3 docking station, a television with freeview, telephone, biscuits and bottled mineral water, Woodside in Warwickshire, Highgate House in Northamptonshire and Barnet Hill in Surrey offer the luxury of a boutique break with the convenience of fantastic central locations.
