How many weddings do you have a day?
Just one! Yours is the only wedding taking place and our team will do everything to make sure your day is absolutely perfect.
What bedrooms are included?
The Bridal Suite will always come as part of your package on the evening of your wedding. For all weddings we reserve a further 19 for your guests with preferential rates.
Can I stay the night before my wedding?
Absolutely! If the Bridal Suite is available, you are welcome to book this room overnight and get ready for your wedding the following morning. If we do have a wedding the night prior, we will provide you with a large main house bedroom. Remember, you can also book a table in our Terrace Restaurant or dine in one of our beautiful main house dining rooms the night prior.
How do my guests book bedrooms?
All your guests should call our reservations team on 01604 505505, extension 2 and have your wedding reference to hand.
Can we use an external catering company?
We do not allow external caterers however you can leave the catering to us! Our wonderful head chef (who has been with us for over 15 years), will be more than happy to sit down with you and chat about how to design your perfect menu.
Can we try the food before the wedding day?
Of course! At Highgate House, food is really important to us and that’s why we offer a free taster evening so you can sample our food.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes, our chefs can cater for all dietary requirements, so everyone will have a delicious and enjoyable meal.
Do you provide a children’s menu?
We understand how important it is to cater for the little ones within your party, so whether they want chicken nuggets and chips or a half portion of the wedding breakfast, we’ll ensure they won’t go hungry!
Do you charge corkage?
We do not allow corkage on site, however, we do have a fantastically stocked bar. If there is something you specifically require, please let us know and we will do our very best to get the correct stock in for you.
Can we change the numbers on the set packages?
We are always willing to discuss numbers with you. However, on our set packages the numbers we state are the minimum numbers required to fit in with these packages.
What’s included in my wedding?
You will have full use of our crockery, cutlery, glassware, tables and chairs. If you have chosen to use our Coote suite we will also include table cloths. We do not provide wedding decorations or chair covers but can recommend a number of great suppliers who can make the venue look beautiful for you.
Can I extend my bar?
Yes, you can extend the bar time until 2am if you so wish to do so.
Will we have a wedding planner to assist us and who will be our main contact on the day?
Yes, our experienced wedding planner will be there to guide you through every step of planning your special day! On your wedding day, our in-house Master of Ceremonies will look after you and your guests so you can relax and enjoy yourselves.
When are we able to deliver the wedding items and set up the room?
We advise delivering the wedding items the day before. We are more than happy to set up the place cards, favours and other decorations for you in the morning, or the night prior, and can work with other suppliers to coordinate the setup of any other decorations.
How much deposit or pre-payment is required?
A non-refundable deposit of £1,500 is required upon confirmation and a contract will be issued shortly afterwards. 50% of the balance is due 6 months prior to the wedding, with the final payment due 5 weeks before.
Can I bring my dog?
Of course! We have dog friendly bedrooms on site. We also have some lovely country walks around the hotel for you to take them on the morning after!
Do you allow fireworks?
Unfortunately fireworks are not allowed as we are surrounded by farmland.
