Have a Heart Trekkers’ Ball
7 Jun 2010
A group of fundraisers from our local commercial radio station, Heart 96.6, chose Highgate House to host a black tie ball to raise funds and awareness of the Have a Heart charity...
For its first year, the Have a Heart charity (charity number 1091657) will focus on building a better future for the children living in the local community. Those who are vulnerable, face adversity, are living with a disability or illness and are deprived of the childhood that every young person deserves. Have a Heart will specialise in funding local projects making a difference together to make a better life for our children.
Anna Vitiello, Marketing & Events Executive at Heart, which is part of the Global Radio group, was one of three from the station who would be trekking along the Great Wall of China in May 2010. Anna had encountered Highgate House previously so knew what she could expect from the Northamptonshire venue. "Over the years we have done some great projects with the team at Highgate House and I know them to be a friendly and helpful business so they were first choice for us even at the initial planning stages of the Ball,"
Beginning with a champagne reception at 7pm, the ball included an evening meal for 98 people served in the fabulous Coote suite. Heart's Breakfast presenters hosted the evening and, along with the Heart Angels, welcomed guests to Highgate House before dinner. After the meal they handed over to Afternoon presenter Daniel Fox, who entertained guests with a Club Classics Disco until 1am. A raffle and auction helped raise more money.
Anna and her guests all labeled the evening a great success and thanked the team at Highgate House for their support. "Mia, Paul and Nicola at the venue were very helpful from start to finish and very good at reassuring the Heart organising team that things were all going to schedule. I think the launch event was a huge success; we really wanted to ensure that it was fun and gave the charity as much profile as possible in a positive way. The evening was full of glamour and laughter. I know the team worked very hard for us and it was indeed a pleasure to work with you all! In total from all our activities, we raised £20,200, and this would not have been achievable without this event. The team at Highgate House really did make fundraising fun as they were so helpful; and ensured that the stresses of an event this size were minimal"
