Highgate House Employee to take on Kilimanjaro for the Northampton Hope Centre

An employee from Highgate House in Northamptonshire is set to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Northampton Hope Centre.
Sean Coxon, who is Client Engagement Manager at Highgate House, will be heading to Tanzania from 21st-29th September with his partner Angela to take on the 8 day trek to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, where he will be raising money for the hotel’s charity of the year, the Northampton Hope Centre.
The Hope Centre provides support for disadvantaged and homeless people in Northampton for over 40 years. As well as giving practical support, The Hope Centre focuses on helping people to help themselves, providing support and services that will enable individuals to take back control of their own lives.
Sean, who is hoping to raise over £500 for the charity through his Just Giving page, will be following the most scenic route of Kilimanjaro, the Lemosho Route. It will take him 7 days to climb and 1 day to descend, covering a distance of 31.4 miles and reaching an altitude of 5895 metres.
Speaking about the challenge Sean said:
“I am really excited about the prospect of standing on the Roof of Africa. I am not a climber but I do love pushing my boundaries and taking on challenges, they don’t come much bigger than scaling the tallest free standing mountain in the world. Too many people spend their lives living outdoors and face far greater challenges so when Highgate House selected the Northampton Hope Centre as their nominated charity it seemed appropriate to do something significant like this to contribute towards their fundraising.”
