Sundial Chef Gears Up for Prestigious Competition in America
Woodside, Warwickshire, Highgate House, Northamptonshire
Mary Palecek, Sous Chef at our Kenilworth hotel, Woodside, is preparing to travel to America next week to compete in the Global Copper Skillet Competition run by IACC.
As current UK and European Junior Champion, Mary, aged 25, will represent Europe on Tuesday 4th April when she competes against other champions from the US and Australia Asia Pacific, for the Global Chef of the Year title.
The popular Copper Skillet competition was introduced in 2004 to highlight the artistry and skill of the best chefs from IACC member conference venues around the world.
Mary has been a chef for nearly 6 years now, starting her career at Highgate House in Northamptonshire before moving to Woodside in 2015. In that time she has worked her way up from Commis Chef to Sous Chef.
Ahead of the competition, she said:
“I’m really looking forward to travelling to LA for the competition next week! It’s so exciting but also so nerve-wracking to be competing in such a prestigious competition. It’s an honour represent the UK and Europe already, it would be amazing to bring home the Global title too!”
