Barnett Hill was delighted to again sponsor the Blackheath Village Fair, which took place on Monday 4th May 2009.
Although the weather included a few spots of rain, the number in attendance was as high as usual. The fair attracted a huge number of visitors (up to 3,500) with more than 60 stalls spread across the whole length of the picturesque village. Most of the residents in Blackheath help in setting up the fair and running of stalls throughout the afternoon, with all proceeds distributed for the benefit of the whole community.
This year's event included plant and bookstalls, children's games, cream teas, beer tents, raffles, gyroscope, bouncy castle, skittle alley, toss the bale, and music and entertainment.
Tim Hall, Barnett Hill's General Manager, expressed his pleasure at being able to support the local community. ‘We were thrilled to once again support this fair as well as the St Martin's Church Mural Appeal and it is great to hear that they were a success, not that it was ever in doubt! I fully appreciate the hard work that goes in to organising these things and credit must go to all those concerned who often have to give up large amounts of their own time to ensure the ultimate enjoyment of others.'
